Head of Sales and Marketing

We are growing, and we are looking for an experienced sales person to head our customer support and sales team. A person with experience from product tech sales, capable of closing B2B office software sales and ambitions to build, lead, and grow a global sales team is highly wanted.

About us

Maritime Optima AS was registered in April 2018 and is funded by the founders, employees, and some private investors.

We aim to develop and distribute innovative smart maritime software products built on industry knowledge and big data, empowering single users or professional teams to work from anywhere.

We are a team of 16 people with different backgrounds, skills, and knowledge, and we have solid domain knowledge and a reliable maritime network. We are skilled, curious, and honest. We have humor, we respect each other, and we dare to share. We are in it to win it together, and you will make a difference.

We are located in modern maritime-inspired offices at Aker Brygge in Oslo but are moving into our new offices (cross the street) in Vika Atrium in January 2023.

We are offering two products;

ShipAtlas - For everyone interested in vessel data, tracking and trades, port activities, congestions, sea routes, marine weather, ice conditions, piracy, zones and maps.

The business model for ShipAtlas is freemium. ShipAtlas has more than 50 000 registered users and is continuously developing our product based on user feedback.

ShipIntel - A modularized software for maritime professionals focusing on team efficiency. Customize software for your needs by selecting the modules you want. ShipIntel was launched in October 2022 and is growing quickly.

We are growing, and we are looking for an experienced sales person to head our customer support and sales team. A person with experience from product tech sales, capable of closing B2B office software sales and ambitions to build, lead, and grow a global sales team is highly wanted.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead and grow a sales team.
  • Leadership and training/guidance of sellers.
  • Responsibility for building your own customer portfolio and close sales.
  • Software product (SaaS) sales to new and existing customers.
  • Result and budget responsibility.
  • Member of the Management Group.

Wanted qualifications:

  • Solid sales experience of software products (Saas) with documented sales results.
  • Good knowledge of and experience from sales of office software.
  • Overall good IT skills and understanding of software.
  • Experience from negotiations with decision-makers in the corporate market.
  • Education in sales or marketing is desirable, but relevant sales experience compensate.
  • Professional working proficiency in English, preferably also Norwegian.
  • Knowledge of the commercial shipping is an advantages.
