Simen Omholt-Jensen

Data Scientist

Simen holds a B.S.E in Mechanical Engineering from Duke University, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Industrial Economics and Technology Management at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Simen has previously interned at Pareto Securities, Innovation Norway, and Wilhelmsen where he implemented a sensor data pipeline for vessels in Wallenius Wilhelmsen's fleet.

At his time at Maritime Optima as a junior data scientist, Simen has worked on berth detection by the means of clustering vessel trajectories, and vessel destination prediction using machine learning. As part of his Master’s Thesis, Simen will work on a multi-vehicle pickup and delivery problem with time windows to optimize cargo routing decisions for a fleet of vessels in conjunction with Maritime Optima and Western Bulk.

In his spare time, Simen enjoys hiking, traveling and occasionally playing the piano.
