Head of Global Sales

We seek an accomplished salesperson to lead and grow our global sales and customer support team. The person should have experience from the maritime industry and from SaaS product sales and be able to help grow sales worldwide.

We are growing, and today we are a team with 17 full-time employees and 2 part-time employees with different backgrounds, skills, and knowledge. We have a solid knowledge and understanding of the shipping industry and a reliable maritime network.

To continue our growth we are looking for an experienced salesperson to lead our sales and customer support team. We are looking for someone with experience in product tech sales (SaaS), capable of closing B2B office software sales, and the will and ability to build, lead, and grow a global sales and customer success team. You need to have prior maritime / shipping experience. 

About Maritime Optima

We started Maritime Optima AS in May 2019. Today, we are privately funded by serial tech entrepreneurs and shipping executives. We were awarded the Copernicus price and the Microsoft Startup program in 2019-2021. In 2023, we became a part of the Microsoft ISV Success Program.
 
We are located in modern offices in Vika Atrium in Oslo, but we want to build and grow sales team outside Norway. So in 2024, we intend to have presence in London and Singapore as well as Oslo, so it is fine with us if you are located in any of these places.

We are working closely with the users while developing the products we offer. Today, we develop and distribute two SaaS products:

ShipIntel: A flexible and affordable team software for any company involved in maritime business. With ShipIntel our customers can make better decisions today with tomorrow's maritime solution.
ShipIntel was launched in October 2022 as a MVP. In October 2023, we officially launched the modular ShipIntel, and ShipIntel is growing very quickly. It is available on the web and as part of the Microsoft Office 365 portfolio. ShipIntel is also available on mobile.

ShipAtlas: An application for individuals and consumers interested in following ships.
ShipAtlas was launched in August 2020 as an MVP product on the web, and in February 2022, we launched mobile applications with different types of subscriptions. Today, users can download the application from the AppStore or Google Play Store or register on the web. Today, ShipAtlas has more than 330,000 registered users.

What we are looking for

We are looking for an experienced sales person from product tech sales (SaaS), capable of closing B2B office software sales, and the will and ability to build, lead, and grow a global sales and customer success team to help us continue our sales growth. Experience from the shipping / maritime industry is a must have.


Your responsibilities

  • You have to be able to build your customer portfolio and close sales, as well as make a plan for scaling, recruiting, and growing the sales and customer success team.
  • You will be responsible for making the sales budgets and for the results.
  • You will be responsible for establishing leadership and training/guidance of the sales and customer success team.
  • You will be a part of the Management Group.

Wanted qualifications

  • Solid sales experience in software products (Saas) with documented sales results.
  • You need to have prior maritime / shipping experience.
  • Good knowledge of and experience from sales of office software.
  • Overall good IT skills and an understanding of software.
  • Experience in negotiations with decision-makers in the corporate market.
  • Education in sales or marketing is desirable, but relevant sales experience compensates.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
